Animation, documentary short film directed by Angel Yau

An autobiographical stop-motion animation about Angel Yau’s experience with school and learning as a shy and awkward kid. School was hard for her mentally, socially and emotionally. She just wanted to be validated and be special to someone’s eyes.
Director’s Statement
I was a quiet and shy child. I would also be lost in my own world a lot. I would often look at an object and associate it with a memory. I would then jump from one memory to another and get lost in that process for a while.
As an adult, I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder… heavy on the obsessive. It seems that there are some memories, no matter how mundane was hard to be let go of. A curse, but perhaps turned into a blessing, till this day, any object can trigger a memory for me.
I believe that every memory a person has, even the ones that seem like they have no significance has a bigger meaning. That’s why we held onto them for so long.
